TRAIL CREEK RETREAT

The Trail Creek Retreat is a residential / recreational complex approximately 15 miles south of Livingston and just 20 miles from Bozeman.  The property, consisting of 100+- acres, lies in a mountain foothill setting in a small valley at the confluence of West Pine Creek and Trail Creek. This small valley is adjacent to and considered part of the re-known Paradise Valley.  The property controls expansive views down the Trail Creek Valley into the Paradise Valley and the adjoining Absaroka Mountain Range. The area is one of the most scenic and sought after locations in Montana.

The area is re-known not only as a world-class fishing and big game area, but rich in scenery as well.  River rafting and fly-fishing in the legendary Yellowstone River, one of Montana’s favorite rivers, is only 10 minutes from the front gate.  The main entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about 45 miles away.  The general area is nearly surrounded by public land with over 970,000 acres of wilderness and nearly 2,000,000 acres of National Forest land with approximately 3,000,000 acres of Yellowstone National Park nearby.  Access to a trail network extending for hundreds of miles for wildlife photography, hiking or horseback riding is via a National Forest Service road right from the property. 

Livingston, with a population of approximately 7,500, just 15 miles away supplies most major shopping needs with supermarkets, auto dealerships, equipment suppliers, retail stores, and a hospital.  Bozeman, with a population of 39,000, less than 20 miles away, offers excellent commercial airline connections, is home to Montana State University, and is the cultural center of south-central Montana.

Horseback riding, hiking and fishing, can be enjoyed on the property or in the local mountains along with cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.  Cross-country skiing is a favorite winter activity in Yellowstone National Park.  For additional summer activities fishing is found in the numerous rivers in the area.   Three of Montana’s most popular Spring Creek fisheries, Armstrong/O’Hair, Nelson and DePuy, are 10 minutes from the house.  Yellowstone National Park is a favorite for photography expeditions, wildlife viewing, fly fishing and the wonders of nature that are found no where else in the world.  One of Montana’s most popular ski resorts, Bridger Bowl, offering downhill skiing plus miles of cross-country ski trails is less than an hour drive from the property.  The famous Big Sky Ski Resort is about 65 miles from the property.
